What do you mean By movement in the yoke ?

I think he means side to side and in and out. Mine only had the small amount of slack while twisting. the small gap between the worm and ring gear.

Thank you all for saving me some cash and time. I swapped both U's and she's smooth as silk once again.

I'm not even going to diagnose my on problems any more. I'm just going to come here and give you guys a description of my problem.

if he has movement on the yoke, beyond a slight play, Its time to pull the rear cover adn have a look. Check the U joints, Pull them aparts adn have a look. this guessing stuff gets expensive quick.
