Should I Get an F-250 with V-10
Hi All,
I bought a 2007 F-350 SRW CC Fx4 and 800 miles later a glow plug broke, fell into a piston and destroyed the engine. It's at a Ford dealer now getting a whole new engine and EGR thing... at my expense since Ford won't pay. $14,000.00 for engine and labor.
I'm devastated by this, and don't think I will keep the truck, so I'm thinking maybe I want a V-10. I'm looking at a 2008 V-10 hopefully tomorrow.
So, for those of you who have the V-10..... what do you think? Have you had good luck with super duty trucks with the V-10?

The V10s have a rep for relatively reliable long term service, but I'd have to ask why? When done you are going to have a truck with a known history, and a brand new engine. If I assume the truck is paid off you're on the hook for the $14k, if not paid off on the hook for more. In that case I don't see how you're going to get into a V10 without being seriously under water on the deal. The only real way to get the money back out of your truck is keep it and use it. Use it into the foreseeable future and get every dimes worth of use out of it you can. Otherwise you are likely to end up in a truck that in essence you've seriously over paid for.
