We are but a Butterfly Fart in a wind storm
Guess that explains all of the ads...

I’m running Vista and Google Chrome. I tried Firefox with Adblock but the ads still appeared. I then installed Adblock to Chrome and the problem was solved. All ads have disappeared including the embedded STP ad in the forum thread/post section; only the Tire Rack ad at the top of page remains.
Well,
Some ads must be blocked individually. (their site that is)
here's what I'm using.
I have to say, that while I don't like ads on this site or others......In general I still buy products from the very companies that are advertising!
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686 on x86_64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0
I don't have any problems with ad anywhere. (except certain Flash ads)

OK to one and all, this is still the best, most freindly, most helpful site on the net. Its not perfect no site is, but when I need a place to get help or give somone else some help, or just keep up with everyones projects, this is where I will continue to come. I voiced My opinion, now its time for Me to move on with other matters. The truth be told I would not of got My truck built without FTE and friends. And for that I will always be grateful.

I think I can see both points of view. The folks that run the site need to generate revenue. BUT the regular, long-term members that produce the useful content of this site, and ultimately draw more viewers to the adverts, don't want to be taken advantage of. I hope there is some middle ground that can be reached here.

I really don't know enough about computers to tell you. It's a H/P Pavilion Slimline , with windows 7, I use firefox most of the time and have ' Adblock plus ' I can switch over to others like 'Explorer' but i don't like it as well.

I'm stumped now - seems like the combo you're running should block the stp-type ads. FYI, your operating system is windows 7... so... (windows) XP doesn't seem to be the only OS affected...
