Ford Trucks in the Woods

While visiting friends in the San Juan Islands I took these pics of old trucks rotting in the woods. Most are Fords and I think at least some are of this forum's vintage. There are about 60 photos in the two albums below. Enjoy.

The Panel truck has the original seats. Even has the optional auxiliary (passenger) seat. Those seats are extremely hard to find.

Those trucks should be saved, or at least parted out so that other trucks could be made complete.

I wouldn't mind having the lettering off of the UNION gasoline truck.

The friend I was visiting owns these trucks. His dad gathered them many years ago. I think he is interested in getting rid of them but will check.

Do my eyes deceive me or is that C-500 an all wheel drive? That would make an excellent roll back tow truck.

Price would have to be very low because shipping parts or trucks to the mainland would be very expensive.

It's a 1942 "Truck." 1/2 tons were called "Commercials" and have a different grille. 1946/47 is essentially the same as 1942. F Series introduced in 1948.

A long way from central PA! They are in Puget Sound in Washington state. On the bright side, the ferry fare to the islands for vehicles includes the trip off the island so a buyer wouldn't have to pay a fare to get one of these things off island.

And yes, the C500 is all-wheel drive, but my friend said only two wheels were turning when they parked it a few decades ago.

The transfer case looks to be out of it based on the picture of the levers. That'd explain two wheel drive. Josh needs it for parts. Stu
