1971 ford f250 oil leak

Hi. Ive got a 71 f250 leaking oil near the entrance of the dip stick to the oil pan. its the little rectangular plate that is on the oil pan where the dip stick goes in. It looks like you can only get to it from the inside the oil pan. I'm assuming I need a gasket of some sort for this.

I love these old trucks but am a bit of rookie when it comes to this stuff. Any sugeestions.

Not sure if you get to it from the inside. My truck must have had the same problem cause it looks like the previous owner put silicone around it.

That piece is permanent it is riveted to the pan. Just spray the area down with brake clean then cover it with Grey High density RTV and all will be good! Also you should pull the dipstick tube and reseal that at the same time.

Nope, just spray with brake clean and seal it up!! Use brake clean to make it a long lasting repair.
