post pic of your van

Yep, the floor can be dropped 4" in the midsection of the van, but to go 6", a bodylift is necessary, a friend has a 96 with a 4" drop, he drives from his wheelchair, manual chair, power sits higher, requiring more drop.
The engine bay is tight, there is a guy in a power chair, has the bodylift on his van, he used the extra room in the engine bay by getting a lightning supercharger added to his 5.4, pretty cool, but not for me, I want room to work.

Heck yes that counts---big time!
I've often thought an old ambulance body on the right frame/chassis would be great for me as a work van---more room and a ton of possibilities for tools, parts and materials storage. Sadly parking restrictions where I live along with licensing issues prevent me from venturing into a DRW set up.
BTW who's the gal in your avatar? Mine is the lovely Ms Christie Brinkley!

I love this thing. It's about 80% through a mild camper conversion and you couldn't hardly ask for a better base to start from. Number one they are built ten times better than 99% of the campers on the road, the power options back there are very good, and storage is everywhere.
Actually, that's my wife, and she'll kill me if she finds out I have her face plastered on the interwebs...

Ya know I've seen several build-outs with ambo bodies or even rehabbed box trucks bodies too. What's almost hit me is most are of a decent size that wouldn't require huge spaces to park or store them. Daily use as a camper or work truck wouldn't be affected too greatly since they fit through drive-thru windows etc.
When you get some time post a few photos of your ambo conversion----never know when another's good idea can be incorporated into another build.

Moved some stuff to our new place, we were up all night, caught this pic out front at sunrise. Not much has changed just liked the shot
Also ended up having to unexpectedly tow this trailor with my straight 6 beater (my v8 rig doesnt have a hitch yet), had to follow behind with my other rig since we had no light hookup and expired tags. Ole girl did it, squatting and all haha

Mike that is indeed a nice work station you've set up!
If you'd ever like to upgrade your task lighting with LED fixtures I'd strongly recommend Thin-Lite products. I've used their florescent fixtures for just about 20 years and they were great for that time. The LED's are much better IMHO although they're not cheap. Tons of light for their size and cost though---super low amp draw plus no cold weather issues when first turned on.
Anyway nice set up!

JWA, thank you and yes i do indeed plan to upgrade the lighting. I had those lights already ( free ) and they light up good but i've been very lucky in transit, i quinch my b-cheeks together everytime i hit a speed bump or dip in the road lol. I don't like the fact the lights sway at all......i will look into those lights, stationary lights would be much better, no doubt. Thanks again JWA.
