Rebuilding 53 master cylinder

I am rebuilding my single bowl mc on my 53 f100. I took it apart and have the rebuild kit. It looks real clean, no rust and I do not see any pitting. Should I still run hone it a little before putting the new kit in?

Ok, I have the mc honed out. Putting it back together. Is there a secret for putting the holding clip back in that holds the internal parts in?
