Old service station pics thread

I know of two occasions this summer when my 19 year old son put a dollar's worth of gas in his accord so they could circle around town a few more times. It's a 12 mile trip home with no cell service to call dad, so all 4 kids finally figured out how to coast the last mile home. I'd make them pay for the gas they siphoned to get to school the next day. Gas on their school clothes and shoes finally got the message across.

My wife gives me grief for having a Pinterest account, but there are a lot of great ideas on there (yes, manly ones too). Here's a link to somebody's old gas stations file: Cool old gas stations on Pinterest | 28 Pins If you don't have an account, I'm not sure what you'll be able to see. There are lots of great car and truck pictures on there too. Here's a better link: Pinterest[]=old|autocomplete|0&term_meta[]=gas|autocomplete|0&term_meta[]=stations|autocomplete|0

kid this doctor with a 1947 ish Cadillac came in for fill up. That drew
attention. Eveybody stood around the pump just seeing $7 dollars was
amazing when average cars was like $3 or so. Back then a Model T or A
was like a buck and a half. Back then here in Mass, there use to be
wicked gas wars just slip over the boarder to RI it was like 13 cents.
Remembering the ole man Fri nites driving around writing pump prices
and all station owners did that. Like down the way one was .19 cents so
my father drops to .17 cents. unlike today they were only earning one or
two cents a gal. volumn was the game.
