No start after fuel pump replacement

Replaced the mechanical fuel pump in my 95 7.3 today. Truck ran before but pump leaked and had loss of power. Put the new pump in and truck fired up after a few cranks. I keep the rpms at about 1500 for 5 minutes to get the air out of the system. Let the truck go to idle then it died. Hasn't restarted all afternoon. I'm very confused. I have plenty of fuel. It just won't fire at all. I have no idea what could have went wrong?

Truck use to smoke when it was cold outside while starting. I'm not getting any smoke what so ever.

That actually isn't a definite rule. you can have a moving tach but no rpms actually being read.

Well I'm gonna test the cmp. What color wires run to the cmp? Is it an AC generator, hall effect, or???

??? The CPS (CMP) is 2 wires that run to a clip about 10 O'clock on/by the "harmonic balancer" I would just replace it.

I've got a DMM Ill backprob the connector harness. What color wires is the cmp? I can prolly get a scanner from a friend this afternoon. My truck is scannable. I've used fords IDS system on it and genisus system scan tool. Snapon modus and ethos also work very well.

Well I looked and there's about 6-7 wires in a harness on the front of the motor. It splits to 2 sensors coolant temp sensor and cam sensor. Where the other wires go I have no idea.
