Hahaha - I hear ya trying to find pics in my thead. Good thing they are easy to find in my photobucket, or even better in my personal build pics folders here on the home comp.
If you guys ever need any specific pics & can't find them - just feel free to ask.

As for the time/$ question - oh boy... I've got hundres, if not thousands of man hours in mine and a TON of $$ in it. Thought not as much as people would think as I'm a cheap a** and buy things used or build my own

Bought a couple batteries and installed the Eastwood thermo-coustic sound deadener today. Man, what a tedious job that was. Now to build battery boxes and start to wiring.

Cummins Crew Cab

Hey Guys,
Ive been reading your posts and enjoyed all the build pics, My 78 crew was a 2wd and ive done a frame splice, Ill try to link my pics of the job, but now its out with the 429 and time for the 12 valve to go in. My question to you guys is did you go with the divorced transfercase and use the 2wd dodge trans or opt for a married unit? Thanks for your time.
My kids love the old beater, the big block puts my 2 y/o to sleep... either that or I have an exhaust leak...dunno.

Yeah I went that route. Guess I never posted pics of how I did the trans mount. Still need to do the transfer case cross member.

So, how does that transmission run out? Does it shift all crazy like my 98 cummins did? Im debating on weather to spend the money on a NV 5 or 6 speed or use the A518 and the divorced transfercase. As with most of us truck lovers with families got a limited budget so the 2wd trans sounded like the simple option... any thoughts? Just dont want a crummy transmission after all the work. I have a 92 12valve and the A518 along with a dana 24 transfercase right now but im debating on wether to go divorced NP 205, or find a mated case and dodge transmission or manual..help me out

Well, if you read through this thread, you'd know that mine is not finished yet so I couldn't tell you how it "runs out". Do a search or start your own thread. Lots of stuff to read. I went with the A518 because it is what I had. If I had to do it over I'd find the 4x4 version A518 and buy an adapter for the married 205. I asked around but didn't know that was an option until I had the 12v and trans mounted.

I'm still working on mine
but I'm doing the 4x4 a518 mated to a np205
thought about doing the divorced but the extra length of the 2wd case plus the middle driveshaft puts the t-case back pretty far IMHO
plus I hear stories of driveline vibration and need for bracing the t-case to the trans

I'm not familiar on the dana24 but is A518 2wd or 4wd?
if it's 2wd you just need the rear trans case and output shaft to convert it to 4wd
