Pics/description of audio upgrade in 2011 F250 CC

To reassure your purchase, I would say no to the BW worth. Mine showed up with carpet imperfections right on the front and one on the top corner, where the material didn't even cover a small portion of it (so I know it's not from shipping). It does sound great though, I'll give him that much.

I wish you would have called or emailed me about that. I would have liked to seen pics. Its tough for me to say for sure what happened but i can assure you I would not have shipped a box with carpet not covering a portion of the box. Either way, Im very sorry you were not happy with the appearance of the enclosure.
As side note, that thing hits harder than any past system I've ever had, lots of new rattles that need attention.

Hey Blaine!
Here's a link to the baffles.
They serve two purposes. Keeping the speakers clean and dry and improving acoustics.
To get the wire in there you just poke a tiny hole in the bottom and feed the wire through, before you add the connectors. (you don't want the hole any bigger than necessary).
Put the baffle in place, press the speaker in and tighten it down. No need to poke holes for the screws if you don't want to.
Hope that helps!

Hey, guys...jumping in here to plan my speaker upgrade.
Started a new thread but I think my setup is nearly the same as yours.

I'd like to get a better idea of exactly what I have in the truck before I start buying stuff. Size and location of speakers, amps, etc?
Can I upgrade the factory sub and reuse its box? I'm sure the factory amp is junk, right? Is there just the one amp?

The trick is not to remove any more than you have to, and still get a clean install.
The seats (front anyway) and carpet stayed in for me, then again my install didn't require it. For example, my sub power cable comes up the drivers A pillar, runs the length of the roof above the doors, comes down under the rear window and across to the amp. The RCA's and remote turn on run down the passenger rocker panel.
Lucky for me everything else is up front under the dash.

Sweet install and system!
I am thinking about upgrading the factory sound system and wondering about how big to go. Dave, you seem to be a real stereo guru so I'd really appreciate your opinions (and any else that wants to chime in).
Right now I am in the planning stage and trying to decide on how much to do. I have never had a system with amps or subs. The most I have done in the past (with a Ford Taurus) is swap out speakers and head unit for aftermarket. Truthfully I was very happy with the result and initially I was thinking that would be the plan for my F250.
I saw some photos of 12" subs behind the rear seat and it looks so cool. So I got to thinking....but
It does look like a lot of work and most of the time I just listen to the local radio station.
What is the least amount still worth doing? I was thinking maybe an Alpine head unit and 5 x 7 Alpine speakers for the front and rear.
I know there is a lot of rambling and I need to figure out what I want, but it is an open opportunity to wax philosophic on the merits of your bad *** stereo system - Dan

What head unit do you have now and what's your budget?
I'm using my factory nav unit with the components in my signature. I have no complaints with my setup (besides a few rattles).
Some pics of my install in this thread that I hijacked from the OP:
