passenger car tire suggestions needed.

my 2005 focus needs some new rubber. the tires need to be good in snow, rain, dry, etc. I know it is hard to find a all season tire that is good at everything, but I am looking for suggestions. I would like to stay below $100 a tire. I know the best thing to do would be to buy dedicated snow tires for the winter, but I can't afford an extra set of wheels and tires right now. thanks for the ideas!!

Last I knew Blizzak's were the favorite of highway patrols for all season, maybe get them that cheap since yours are pretty small.

from what i have heard on reviews, blizzak's don't last long in the summer months, tread wears very quickly with year round use, otherwise I agree they would be a great tire for just snow/winter.

Check out what's available from Mastercraft Tires Mastercraft Tires - Home . They're made by Cooper and are what I believe are the best "bang for the buck" tire.

Firestone Precision Sport

Tirerack is a sponsor of FTE and I have used and like them. I did a search for 2005 Foci there and 195/60-15 comes up as the most common OE size. The tire linked is one that I am considering for my Honda. Its US made, inexpensive and rates extremely well in snow/ice performance for what is not a dedicated winter tire. The tradeoff is noise and treadwear. Smooth tread patterns for noise and hard rubber compounds for long life dont do well in winter conditions. My priorities are more with cornering grip and traction than quiet ride.

$69 for an H speed rated name brand US tire in that size is great. $381 out the door for a set shipped, mounted and balanced is the figure I came up with using a local recommended installer that I have used before.
