Valve body install on 4r100

Well, you have to drop the pan to do it, so a lot of fluid will come out.... remove the drain plug first and drain, then the pan, then the filter to access the VB. There will be some fluid in the VB itself, too. Make sure to have enough on hand to refill it, and run it through all the gears to move the fluiid through after filling it.

I just did mine at our last gtg... I would recommend a big piece of plastic or a disposable drop cloth (things are gonna get messy). As said above, there is gonna be fluid in everything you take apart. I believe it took 8 quarts of fluid to refill mine when I was done. Might as well slap in a new filter while you're in there too. I believe the bolts get torqued to 80-100 in/lbs working from the center out in an alternating pattern. Pan bolts get torqued to around 10 ft/lbs (do not over tighten or you risk damaging parts and the gasket.
