i want to order a pair of full length headers from summit and was curious to see how you guys routed your exhaust piping. im planning to have the pipes exit right infront of the rear tires. post some pics or tell how you did it! thanks

I had summit headers a long time ago and they lasted a long time like 7 yrs but in that time I built a custom stainless exhaust and when it came time for new headers I ordered summits and they were different then what I had. On the tech line they told me that they get different conpanys to build there headers for them and every so often they change. Turns out it was hooker they were getting them from so I was able to not change anything.

I did have duals at one time before I made the S.S. 3", but because the lack of room on the transfer case side you'll have to run both down the pass. side but you can follow my routing, its the same down to the y-pipe.

so there really is no way to run one pipe down one side of the transfer case and one on the other side?

I've seen people do it but on mine that pipe would be bouncing off the driveshaft/tranfercase mount/transfer case itself. you can still do it you just have to loop up over the driveshaft to go out the driver side. I like it behind the wheel then you don't here so much noise.

i would not suggest the summit headers. heres why:

before. they hung way low. was impossible to put exhaust on

after i spent a few hours cutting them

new exhaust

2.5" dual exhaust, cherry bomb mufflers. sounds real nice. took alot of work to modify the headers to be able to get an exhaust to fit.

Fender exit Headman Hustlers that are 2" primary and 3.5" collector. 3.5" pipe with big *** straight through Magnaflow's. If you can get away with it, fender headers are the ticket in my opinion. The exhaust is simple to route, and it opens up so much room to work on the driveline. I'd never go back.

^^What he said. Kudos on getting them to work. I'd like to think I would have sent them back, but in the end would probably have ended up doing as you did and cut them up.
