cab lights install..

wanted to install cab lights on my 1996 extended cab...is it pre-wired? i know the 99 and up have a plug in under passenger side kick panel. Is it the same with the obs? and where can i buy the original looking obs cab lights with hardware and wire harness that plugs right in? Thanks in advance!

There is a pigtail in the passenger side kick panel that is wired for the cab lights. LMC truck has the OEM cab lights

Unscrew all your upper trim, remove headliner.
Then, it's just measure twice, drill once, and wire it all up.
Oh, and re-assemble everything.

Should take an hour, if yer fast.... Maybe 2 if you take yer time.

I have some cab lights too. Thinking of installing this week. Just to be clear I won't need the toggle switch dine it's pre wired? Also from observing all 5 are equally spaced on fords? Seems like most Chevys are a cluster of 3 and one on each side. I don't want to be mistaken at night

You will have to run a wire from the pass side kick panel to the roof for your lights.
5 equally spaced

So I I'm not savvy when it comes to this stuff. Thought I would hook up the cab lights today. When I pulled back the roof liner it appeared to have 2 layers of metal with a one inch space between the two. I didn't mount the lights as I was unsure how to hook up the rest of the quick connects if I can't see/get to the underside of cab. I hope that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone is in the raleigh area and wants to teach me a thing or 2 I will repay with beer and food!

Drill through both pieces carefully. Almost a two person job if you don't completely remove the headliner. But the run a wire across and get some of those splicing crimp connectors. They make the job much easier. I have the lmc clear led ones

i installed the lmc factory ones on my 97 f250 and it took about 4 hours. Some suggestions would be to where ever you drill holes, buy little grommits and put those in to protect the wire and secondly, the grounds they provide you with are absolute horse *****, i would drill a seperate ground screw to the roof, thats what i did.

Forgot this but put silicone in the holes for the screws and wire holes to seal the water out.

Thanks for the tips. The instructions say to drill an 1/8 inch hole. If you're using grommets I'd want a bigger hole? Maybe 1/4 inch? Again thanks for the help. Will probably tackle this next weekend.
