this weeks paint update

Well got thru the epoxy/ the hb primer/the wet sanding and 2coats of e/a enamel . all in all for my first ever paint job im happy with how its coming. I love the color, but as i was expecting i ended up with a few runs and a sag or two, one spot where the hose hit the door. not bad all fixable ,ill just move along hopfully getting better as i go and ill come back to the boo boos after it cures. Thanks again to 51 merc, Albuq F1, Dale, Hellfire jim, Fomoko1,truxx1956,tinman52, and all the others that gave me the confidence to do it right.

Looks good man. You have to start somewhere and when you get done it will be YOUR truck. That YOU painted. There's nothing like the satisfaction of knowing that you did yourself. I've had my share of dragging the airhose through the paint and getting almost done and deciding to put just one mor coat on and then getting a ncie run in the paint or having a nice fat bug land in it. Believe it or not most of my truck was painted outside. Not too shabby to have been painted outside 15 years ago. The biggest problems I have are the ones I caused by not listening to experienced bodymen and where I have some filler bubbling now.

Take your time and work at your pace. We're all here for support Its looking good man. Just remember to wipe it down with some kind of wax and greas remover to avoid fisheyes. Thats one of my biggest problems painting in my garage enviroment with all the grease floating in the air. Good luck dude

Looks good. You will get better as you go.I am doing the same to mine
only with base coat clear coat.I hate all that sanding.I did the cab first too.
I think the cab was the hardest.Bed was not to bad except for all that sanding.I have fenders and running boards ready for paint now.Hang in there you will get it.Did I mention that I hate all that sanding.

I don't see any sags or runs or where the air hose hit. No one else will either! How did you get up to the roof?

guess you did not see the 6ft ladder in the shiny paint!

Good job, it looks really nice a razor edge will fix any sags you want out, after that a good buff and polish will make it all better.

Wow Jim!! That looks great!!! Worth all that hard work.....love the color too. Keep up the good work!

FWIW, I've been painting for many years, and I still get runs (flow checks) and other dumb stuff.

Hardener is super bad stuff to breathe, I hope you are using a very good mask, preferably one that supplies air to a hood!
