460 crate motor advice

460 crate motor advice

I'm looking to purchase a 460 crate motor for my 96 F350 in the 400 hp range. I'm relegated to switching over to a carburator and am looking for a solid crate motor that won't break the bank. So far the "Ford Talledega 460" crate motor looks promising. Any one have any experience with it or any other suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I googled it and it doesn't say much about it. Is it balanced, align honed, what heads, what comp ratio, what pistons & are they zero decked, what valve train, roller rockers, studs & guide plates, cam degreed in ? There are a lot of ? just off the top of my head that aren't answered. Without all the imfo I ? the hp rating. Shipping a core is going to be expensive. Before I'd buy one I would check the Better Business Bureau web site and see if they have had complaints.
