Just Installed - 02 to 08 SD rear bumper / body matched

Just installed my 08 rear bumper on my 02. Went pretty well except for 4 out of 8 brackets bolts being pretty stuck on. It came OEM utility black which didn't match my truck at all and since I couldn't find a chrome one for a decent price I decided to paint it white. Grabbed a can of rustoleum gloss white and went to town. Turned out pretty damn good and color looks very close....

The bumper and tailgate are interchangable through many years.I,ll have no trouble finding Superduty parts for my 2004 F250 at a wrecking yard.

Based on my experience the 08-10 stuff is hard to find. I have a guy I get tailgates from and have sold to a few fellow forum members, but other than that it is difficult.

I used the whole can, so about 5 to 6 coats. Color looks really close too. I used the gloss white. It is not as shiny as the truck paint though. If I was to do it again if used flat white rustoleum then use a separate can of automotive spray paint clearcoat. Allow 24 hours between spraying base and clear or the paint may spiderweb if you go the latter route.

well with the grill painted.. i am going to get another can of the gloss white then im going to get a really fine sand paper lightly sand it then re spray it and clear coat it. as of now it looks really close but it needs more of a clear look to really match the truck so we will see what happens.. if this doesnt work ill just go chrome but i hope it works b.c it looks really good now..
