Trans filters

Not sure of the exact date for the change over but you are in the ball park to have either.
Easyist way to confirm is just take a look. If you see a toilet paper roll just in from of the trans pan then you have the in-line and a small in pan filter.
If that is the case then consult your manual but I believe service interval is 30K.
If just the internal one then 60K.

You can tell by your transmission pan Logo Location too; see photos at link below and look for 2008 and newer Ford trucks.

With your build date you have a job 2 truck with the internal filter. Requires changing every 60,000 miles with your transmission flush.

If you change that filter yourself; the seal will probably stick in the bore of the transmission body. Be careful trying to get it out; your finger probably will not be able to get it.
I filed a notch in the side of an old toothbrush handle and was able to get behind it and pull it out. Don't want to use metal tool as you don't want to scratch the sealing surface of that recessed bore.
Note that FORD changed the requirements as to which fluid to use in your transmission; use to be SP, now it is LV.
Service manual says 7.1 L or 7.5 qts. for drain and refill. Torque drain pan plug to 20 Nm or 177 lb-in. Then check dipstick at normal operating temperature and add in increments of .24L or 1/2 pint till proper level in the cross hatch area of dip stick.
I measure what I drain; it is always 8 qts.
I have the later model without the external filter; so the internal filter was changed during the 60,000 mile service per the maintenance schedule.
