I'm back!

Most folks around here knew me for my old diesel shop; DieselStorm and the ol'brute Big Beast in the F250 forum. It's been a LONG time.

I have finally found my way back to Ford, on a smaller scale. In the years that have passed I have gotten more and more into track racing sportbikes (particulary Aprilia RSV 1000 R and RSV4) that I really needed a way to haul them. Renting a pick up from Uhaul was coming to be extremely expensive and there was just no way in hell I was throwing a hitch on my Audi. Yes, I REALLY missed having a truck!

So today, with nice sales for 4th of July, I went out and picked up this beautiful baby. I absolutely love!

2010 Ford F150 Crew Cab
Texas Edition
4.6L V8

I have some mods on the list already-- love how that happens!

  • Exhaust system
  • Nice painted bed cover (any recommendations?)
  • Tinted Windows
  • Remote-start Alarm System
  • Wheels

Nice pick.

Couple questions - first off, that is the second Texas edition I've seen (we have a guy here on base who came from TX and had one) and what makes it a TX edition besides the emblem?

Secondly, I don't understand why 4x4 wouldn't be standard on a TX edition... lol. Just a pet peeve. Plus it has the smallest engine - although I don't know if it is a 2V or 3V - and I wonder why they'd do that... isn't everything supposed to bigger in TX?

Anywho - nice rig. I actually wanted a white one myself, my hubs wanted black, so we settled on the dark blue metallic pearl or whatever it is (why don't they just say dark blue?).

ITA with new exhaust! I want some, too, but just haven't found what I like yet.

And I don't agree with the box cover - nothing looks better than a starburst chrome toolbox

Thanks!

It's got everything I need for hauling the bike so I'm happy.

Gas mileage isn't all that bad.

I love the SYNC; soon as my iPhone connects my iPod starts playing.

Adjustable pedals are useless; don't know why they bothered with that.

Most importantly; the cargo space in the back cab is ENORMOUS! I thought my F250 crew cab was huge, but damn this thing blew it out of the water.

So you really don't know what the TX edition means, either?

And the adjustable foot pedals are great for me... I know guys are going to roll their eyes but yes, I drive this to church and all and I wear heels and it is nice to be able to move the pedal. lol.

No clue.

The only thing I found was "front license plate holder" LOL--

It's got nothing special that I can find.

Probably just a sales gimmick-- lucky for me I'm from Germany and not Texas.

You mentioned changing the wheels - I am not a fan of that version, either. I am a *chrome* girl, though - so I jumped on the chrome package and the *chrome* wheels. Not sure if they are true chrome but they are shiny so I'm happy

Congrats on the truck--white is nice!! If yours is like mine, you'll get great mileage (and many years too). I've got 16k miles and it's been really good so far.

I got my paperwork back from my Credit Union and they go "Oh Storm, by the way since you've been with us for a long time and your credit score is amazing we're giving you 3.3% interest!" I immediately told them to hold funding and I called up MacHaik and hauled butt back to get this one instead!

I remember you from diesel forums! I had an '05 & '08 F350. Sold my 38' boat and I too have downsized. Nice truck!

Hmm.

Were you the one who had the photo of the boat behind the dully?
