I have had the idea of that in the back of my head. It seems that its only high boost that the coolant is blowing out. I just hate the idea of having to tear the motor back down to have my pistons shaved to clearance..

I was just talking to my machine shop. He recommended before going as far as shaving the pistons to use what they call a saver shim. He says its a steel shim that is used to allow the stock head gasket to be used. Does anyone have any experience with these? I'm thinking it can't hurt to try.

Did they take it off the heads or block? Did you own the truck since new? If so I won't think the 10 thousands they took off would hurt anything and they are wrong. But if some buddy else had the truck you don't know what they did before. More than one person on here has taken 10 off with know problems except trying to use none stock head gaskets.

I have had to truck since 05 with about 80k on it. The first machine shop I took it to did a bunch work on my block without calling first. They were the ones that claimed they took 10 thousandths off. After that I went to another machine shop. I got the short block back so I seen the piston protrusion myself too know it was way too much.
