Question Length of Axle Pivot Brackets Please!!!

Can anyone give me the length on your left and right axle pivot brackets for an `82- `86 F-250 4WD. They have to be stock. The reason I say this is, the people I bought my truck from, I`ve descovered, built the ones that are on there now for the lift. I`ve narrowed the vibration in my front end down to the pass. side bracket. It was about to fall off!! Talk about scary. Had a good 3/4" gap between the bracket and the crossmember!! I tightened it up but I think the longness of the homemade brkt. is too much leverage for the axle truss, therefore all the vibration. I want to put stock ones back on and some steel blocks under my springs to maintain my lift. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!!

Goto a junkyard and get some stock ones. Then measure the difference. I would call skyjacker or superlift and get thier blocks, skyjacker even makes a nice one piece one for thier class 2 lifts. AVOID front lift blocks like the plague though. Under steering stresses the blocks can get spit out.

Ok thanks!! I`m going to the junkyard tomorrow to see what I can come up with and which way I`m going with this. What is the one piece ,class 2 thing you`re talking about? The brackets maybe?? Thanks again.

If you look at your brackets for the TTB, there are 2 of them. Skyjacker makes a bracket that is 1 big bracket that bolts to your crossmember that both of the axle halves fit into. Makes for a much stronger suspension setup.

I checked on the Skyjacker setup. $249 for the 6" lift and $25 for shipping. Really not a bad price when you consider the strength and correctness as far as allignment is concerned. Also when you consider that one 6" bracket cost $105 from Superlift( not picking on them, just comparing-- they didn`t have it). Come to find out, whoever put the homade bracket on, put the wrong size bolts in (too small) which allowed alot of play when the front end was seeing action! I installed the right size and I think my problems are over. If it starts again, I`m going with the Skyjacker setup!! Thanks again rabidranger!!--------------- Will
