JP8?

Ok so I got a question.. Im in the ARMY and our HMMWV's use JP8 or Diesel... can I run JP8 in my truck? is there a dramatic difference? Will it effect anything?

im no expert on jp8 but iirc its oil based fuel. you need to look at the btu's and see if its even close. I would more then likly not do so.

It is very similar to #1 Diesel. You will get less power and less fuel economy if you were to run it. Theoretically it should not hurt your truck though.

JP-8 RUNS HOTTER THAN YOUR REGULAR DIESLE AS THE ARMY LEARNED BACK IN 1991 WHEN THEY USED IT IN IRAQ,THEY BURNED UP ALOT OF MOTOR THEN. JUST ASK YOUR MOTOR POOL GUYS THAT WERE IN AT THAT TIME.
