Question 9th Gen Bumper Guards

While browsing through the LMC Truck part catalog, on page 20 they offer bumper guards for the 92-96 bumpers...

LMC Truck Parts - Page 20

I don't think I have EVER seen a 9th gen F150 with the older style bumper guards. Definitely not in person at least.

I like that style guard, I've got similar ones on my Grand Marquis. But I have no idea how it would look on the big plain impact-strip-less bumper of my '94 F150. Has anyone ever seen this mounted on the 9th Gens, or pictures maybe? I've searched through Google images and haven't found any evidence...

If you get a set, let me know when pictures are up please.

I have a set of extended guards on the Merc (off an old Police Interceptor), and would love to see 'em on the truck...

I got'em ordered. I used to work for a company that put them on all the pickups. I had not seen them anywhere for a lot of years. I will send you a pic when I get them.

I really like those on 80-86 trucks. They look a bit out of place on 87-91, and look goofy on 92-96. That's why I changed to the EB or HD bumper with the holes.

There needs to be an impact strip though.

I think its the thickness of the bumper that makes them look odd.

LMC offers a set for the bumpers without impact strips...which I can't imagine what they'd look like at all...maybe a little photoshopping is in order...

And they definitely look good on the squarer trucks.

I had them on my 77 and loved the look. I would get them for my 95, but they are a little expensive to take a gamble on if they would look right. Instead I picked up a HD bumper in perfect condition for $90.00.

That could look alright. Mock them up first and take a picture before installing.

If they are like what I have installed before. there is no drilling. It should be a simple 5 minute install. I will get some pics when I get them.

Any updates there jwc?

Looking at the catalog, it sure does seem like these bumper guards would be a bolt-on process. Lots of hardware that's included to mount 'em.

They do have a pair of guards that feature "Clamp On" installation...but they're for the 80-86 trucks...
