Im going to replace the gas tank on my 1950 F-1 to one under the bed. Has anyone done this AND kept the filler neck on the side of the cab for looks? If so, how did you do it. Thanks
I've never done it, but it wouldn't be hard to do. All you need is some simple bracketry to hold it in place. Strips of sheet metal attaching it to the door post and/or the cab bracing will be sufficient. You might almost get away with plumber strap, although that sounds kind of cheezy. But that might give you an idea to work with.

We made our own tank to mount between the frame and go forward enough to use the original filler pipe. We have an IRS so the drive shaft remains in place. I also have front and rear loops around the shaft for safety reasons. This is the only picture I have, if you need more let me know.
