Towing question

I have a 90 f150 5.0 3.55 AOD tranny. Wondering what the towing ability of this truck would be. Got a tandem car hauler I need to haul off a 94 f150 possible?

Take a look at these pictures. Your answer might be there:

The sticker is from my '94 F150, XLT Supercab, 5.0 4R70W 3.55 gears. Your sticker should be in the door frame drivers side. Look at the GVWR and the GAWR for front and rear.

If you have no other option, and you're not going far. It'll do it, just go slow because you for sure wont stop fast

It's only got to go ehh I'd guess no more then ten or so miles. Trailer has no breaks unfortunately. Iv towed a tandem closed in trailer before but it only had a z turn mower in it. Just can't afford to screw up my tranny, reason why I'm scrapping the truck. Thanks for the replys.

WHOA WHOA WHOA You're scrapping the truck bcause of the tranny?

In that case you'd never be able to tow it. The trailer will fall apart and you're tires will blow up into a million pieces.

Lol I can't afford to mess up the tranny in my 90 which is why I'm scarping the 94 I need the money. It sucks cuase it's got an i6 e4od lost OD. Only reason it was parked as a parts truck was cuase the tranny lost OD. im just curious if my. AOD will handle a tandem with a truck on it.

When my trailer brakes went out on a 4100lb rv it took a long time to stop and it wasn't safe. I wouldn't haul it just for that reason. The tranny will be ok as long as it doesn't overheat, make sure the cooling system is in good shape. When I towed with automatics I installed an aux cooler.
My 83 F150 302, AOD, and 3.55 gears hauled a 4500lb TT 10k miles without issue and motor and tranny made it to 220k

I've never seen a AOD truck with a towing package.... AOD is a pretty weak tranny.

Towing packages only came with C6's untill 1989 when the big E4OD came out.

Well I have a the radiator infont
of that the AC in front of that
is another cooler which I have
blown the line off of and is
tranny fluid. Oil coolers in my radiator. I'd say it has a towing package and it's an AOD.

Wasn't trying to come off rude or any thing. Just one of those days.

Have no idea if it was added or not. It looks like a factory job as this one isn't stuck thru the AC fins. This one is actually bolted to the radiator support. I just swapped 90 front end to 94 and the holes were there. So I'm clueless as if it was added or
factory.
