Well, this site won't allow the zip file to be uploaded.
F250GH, Thanks much for the pictures it shows what I think may be missing on my truck. namely that adapter piece with the clamp. That does appear to be similar to The holly carb. that I found loose in a box of parts that came with the truck. The cleaner I have sits perfectly on top of it with no other parts needed. Do you have any pictures of the actual cleaner I would be very interested to see that to compare it with mine? I did a little retrofitting (nothing I can't undo) to see if I can use it.

The Auto-Lite carb does not use a clamp. It uses either a stud which threads into the throat of the carb (there is a part that is threaded for this to occur), or the throat of the carb has two holes opposite each other.

What fits into these holes is a device that looks similar to this: }-----

Has the stud made as part of it.

I wish you had the parts catalog, because the only 6 cylinder oil baths shown fit to an adapter that fits onto the carb.

Thanks a million, That is exactly the same cleaner I have if the rough dimensions are 9 1/8" dia. and 3 5/8" tall. Mine mounts perfectly to the Holley I spoke of having. It looks as though it would also work with my autolite 1100 If I had that mounting clamp you showed in the first photos. I now wonder if the Holley was on it first. Again thanks to you and all who chimed in on this.

Hmm...I wonder if this oil bath came on this '65 240 I-6 Good Humor truck originally? Or was the original missing and someone substituted one of the following?

C1TZ-9600-F .. Oil Bath Air Cleaner-Use w/1V Holley Carburetor / 9.03" O.D. / 3.38" high / 2.33" carb mounting opening.

Applications: 1961/62 F100/600 223 I-6.
---------------------------------------
C2AZ-9600-A .. Oil Bath Air Cleaner-Use w/Holley 1V Carburetor / 9.06" O.D. / height not listed / Not marked w/an ID number.

Applications: 1962/64 Galaxie 223 I-6 / 1957/62 P100/500 223 I-6.
----------------------------------------------------------------
C6UZ-9600-A .. Oil Bath Air Cleaner-Use w/1V Holley Carburetor / 9.48" O.D. / 3.60" high / Marked: C6UF-9600-A

Original applications: 1966 Econoline 170 I-6.

These are the only oil baths listed in the 1957/63 & 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalogs that are within 9" O.D. range.

After looking at the carb (Holley) and cleaner from the Good Humor truck, I can promise you that it is not the same as the stock original aircleaner for an 1101 Autolite which came on a typical I6 240/300 F100 in 65. I base this not just on my truck, but on the shop manual that I have.

In the pic of the interior of the oil bath, I can see what is missing: Namely, in my two oil bath air cleaners, there is another part that is spot welded underneath the center hole. That's what sits on the top of the 1101.

Nummerdummies description is correct of a sort of wishbone shaped part that sits inside the barrel of the carb, with a threaded rod on top that holds the whole assembly together.

Sounds like the holley carb on the GH truck takes a different oil breather, which requires that adaptor that you see in the pics.

You do not apprear to have a correct breather for the 1101, as the one you have seems to be for a Holly 1904 I think.

I had never known that the Holley 1904 or 1940 carbs took different aircleaners, but its possible. I looked at some images with a google image search. Appears to me that the 1940 Holley would take the same cleaner as the 1101, but the 1904 probably takes the earlier design seen in the Good Humor pics.

I do know that Ford sold the 1940 for years as a replacement for the 1101. I'd think they would have to take the same cleaner...

Here's a link to an ebay part:

Here's a paper cleaner that will fit:

Any leads on where I may be able to find a similar air cleaner (the one pictured in post 19)?
