Stock aluminum, or stock steel? I'd venture to guess steel since you're asking, and in that respect, I'd definitely say go with a flat black, it looks bad-***.

Yeah flat black would be nice, don't paint over aluminum wheels.

No. Personally I don't like painted wheels if it's done with a spray can and it's flat black. It looks like a teenager's attempt at style.

i do agree with Christopher. plus i don't think flat black match my paint scheme very well. and they are the steel. I'm looking into getting them powder coated the color i mentioned. i might spray paint them still., i just need something to look "OK" till i can afford new wheels (should be right after my project truck is done lol) thanks for the pics fdude, that's exactly the color I want.

Well, I'll say this, if you gonna paint the rims, paint all 4, not just 1 where the hubcap was missing like the previous owner did to mine!

I have some nice vintage turbine rims now

Here's my 350 before I replaced them with H2 wheels. I used some crappy flat black that I had setting on the shelf for way too long. No real prep, just a wash and then spray down with some brake cleaner

If you are going to replace your wheels with aftermarket wheels then have fun with what you have. Spray cans don't cost much so hit up WalMart, buy a bunch of different colors and try them out until you find one that you like. Most spray bombs won't take much time to dry so you could try out a couple combos over a weekend. Make a cardboard cut out to cover the tires and speed up masking them off. Then spray away!

Oh and post pics of everything that you try. It maybe usefully for someone else later

I personally like the argent wheels better than black. To me black wheels look like they came from the clearance isle at Pep Boys.

Don't paint the aluminum or chrome wheels. The paint wont adhere well.
