Project Extreme Duct Tape

Well, the time has come to make ole duct tape into a 4x4. have finally found the perfect candidate for the swap, and at such a good price! I have a 78 c10 HD i baught for $100 a few months ago, i know its a chevy but its a good log hauler I will be trading the chevy for an 89 f150 4x4 302 5 speed manual with 3" lift and 35's.

Heres the 89:

Heres my 94 f150 2wd 300/6 5 speed "duct tape racing":

Now, to clerify my build, I will need your HONEST opinions and suggestions.
The 94 will be my "Primary base", meaning i will be sticking with the 5th gen front end and cab. I want to put the lift, 4wd front end, doors, front bumper, rear bumper, bed, 35's, rear end, keep the 300/6, d-shafts, and tranny from the 89.

Heres my pickle, i know it'd be easier just to swap the front clips and just be done, but i want to do this on the 94 frame, considering ive done ALOT of work to it, and i also wanna basically want to take the harder route.
Also, what is the better alternative? Keep the 300/6 or swap in the 302? i wanna keep the 6 but i dont want it to be a complete dog with 35's.

ANY suggestions are more than appreciated, i wanna hear what you think i should do. More pics and the build should start next week and im picture crazy! In a nutshell, im combining these two trucks into one and wanna keep the 94 clip and cab.

I'd just keep DTR for the highway, and use the 4x4 to beat an bang on...

BUT, if you're set on the swap...4.10/4.11's will be a must....

Not a bad deal on the 89 btw...

this is a tough one.
if you have the room and money to keep both trucks, i would do as Wesley said, keep DTR as a daily driver and use the 4X4 as a toy.

I want that bumper and grill off of your 89!! That truck looks sweet, but im pretty partial to those 87-91 front ends The 94 would be fun to do a 4x4 swap to. Its your truck, do what you want with it. You can swap the parts you want from the 89 to the 94 and scrap/sell the rest to make up lost profits.

With the 6cyl you will should go to 4.10s. If you swap in the 302, i'd go with 4.56s or higher gears. With that sepa though, you need to swap computers, wiring and yadda yadda. Not worth it in my opinion, unless you do a maf swap and add some power adders to that 302 (heads cam headers etc)... the aftermarket for the 302 is unbelieveable

All depends on how much $$$ you are willing to fork out and live with the fact that you will lose mpg and there for be paying for the swap everytime you fill up at the pump.

All these are true and as bad as i want my 94 to be 4wd, i also dont. My 94 is 100% reliable, good gas mileage and ive been drivin it for 6 years so i know that thing inside and out.

A couple buddies of mine said thesame thing yall did. SO most likely im going to be keeping Duct Tape how it is and make the 89 a mud toy, which im stoked about! Ive just come to the conclusion that its always comforting to know you have a reliable vehicle.

89 has a title, is legal and im gonna get it registered (for snow, occasional drives, ect.) and its ALWAYS nice to have a backup vehicle. and get this 90,000 origional miles!

I think this is a smart and responsible decision on your part. Keep the truck 2wd as it is in great shape and reliable and keep the other as a backup/get to where you need to go type vehicle.
