EVR Diode or Resistor?

Im tracking down a code DTC 31. So far I have found several problems and correcting each as I go. I have found the harness connector going into the EVR is melted. I have a new connector coming from RJM. I have read on some other threads mention of a diode or resistor pack that goes between the harness connector and the EVR, anyone have any information about this part and is it necessary and if so have a part # or source?
