Exclamation Royal prple turned to sludge

I was running Royal Purple and it turned to sludge. My check engine light came on, bronco died. it sat I started it up drove it home about 1 mile and replaced oil pump. Now it wont turn over like it ceased up. Guy at autozone told me if there isnt grinding then i need to run diesel fuel to clear the sludge. Has any one had this problem or heard this solution?

How long had the royal purple been in there? motor knocking or anything?

pull the spark plugs and then try to turn the motor over by hand using a large rachet/socket.

no knock, just wont turn over turns real slow like the batt is dead. and engine light is still off. the oil was changed regularly. put regular oil back in it. the truck has been sitting for one year now.

You have checked the obvious, low battery, right? Been sitting for awhile the battery may have went dead.

yea get a fresh battery on there. clean you ground and positive bat cables also.

I would run some Delo 15w-40 or Rotella oil thru the motor with a purolator or motorcraft filter. run the motor for a good 500 miles and change the oil/filter and put another 6 quarts of delo/rotella thru it for a normal 3000k and then run what ever you want.

the delo/rotella are a high detergent and will get the inside cleaned up good. not to mention the high zinc is good for the motor. I run the delo exclusivly only my newly built 357.

royal purple oil sucks. overpriced garbage. the delo and rotella oil is excellent and fairly nice to the pocket book. diesel fuel is a good way to clean up the sludge, a buddy of mine did it in a 350 sbc. if u wanna spend the money and have great oil, use amsoil.
