86 F250

New guy, been looking around the site a little, lots of good info, now I have a question. Just picked up a new toy over the weekend, 1986 F250 4x4, auto, with a 351w with water in the oil. There is a low mileage engine on craigs out of a '93, the question is will this work with the carb and manifold set-up from the '86? Any input will be appreciated.
Thx

I did some reading, and it sounds like all you have to do is change the manifolds. I am not sure if there is anything else needed, but hopefully someone else will chime in if there is.

Thx, I was hoping they would swap. going to look at the engine saturday. Will probably have more questions as I tear into this beast, been awhile since I worked on an older ford.

Edelbrock 2181 - Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifolds - Application - SummitRacing.com

If you look under the application tab, it says that that manifold will fit 1969-97 351w engines, which tells me that what you are trying to do is possible.

I don't know if it would be too much work, but you could always take the carb manifold with you and compare with the EFI motor.

You will need to switch out the dizzy too. You will have a serp belt setup if its still on there. You could leave it on there and have that fancy 3g alt too!

Thx for the input, didn't even think about the serpentine belt, hopefully I can get the engine complete and leave that setup on there. I was looking around the engine last night and there seems to be a lot of vacum hoses unattached and fittings broke off. Does anybody know of or have a vacum diagram I could get a hold of? I'll try to get some pics up in the next day or so.
