Showing off my new ride. Pics
My wife found this on Craigs while I was out of town for work. She went and looked it over, payed the guy and took care of the paperwork. I got home a week later and went and picked it up. She payed $500 for it and it was advertised as "needs motor".
Anyway, it did need a new motor (terrible lower end knock), which I just spent a few days installing, and after working out some vac leaks and a few other problems, it's runninng very well now. I considered taking off the running boards, but when I turned the headlights on the first time, a cool row of lights came on running the length of the boards. So, they are staying on the truck.
The paint isn't original, but who ever repainted it, did a pretty good job. I can't find any significant rust on it anywhere. The odometer reads 85k, and it just may be right judging by the condition of the interior.

No, it's oil pressure. I had an extra lay around so, I "T'd" off the back of the block so I could keep the factory one on the dash panel. It starts cold with about 65lbs, and runs about 11lbs at hot idle. I'm running some cheap 10-30w right now. I'll find something better after I know I don't have any pan leaks. I had to change oil pans 'cause the donor motor was out of a hiboy. I installed a new oil pump, too.

Yeah, this is my first Super Cab. I was surprised to see the pop out back windows. I love all the extra room in the back seat area and the front. I have a '95 (pictured in my Avatar) that is not near as roomy as this thing is. And, No Side Trim on this thing at all.
I do like the look of the trimmed out models, but after 30 yrs, trim is problematic and expensive to replace. I'm staying with the wheels that are on it. I just cant bring myself to mount alloys on this thing. Bone stock definitely has a cool factor to it.
Thanks for all the compliments. It was on Craigs for several days before my wife finally got up there and closed the deal. Probably the price of gas is scaring most folks away from these old beauties. I'm loving it.
