2004 expo 4.6L P3001 Code

Wel im in a bit of distress here and im hoping that some might be able to help me out. I have a 2001 f350 v10 and i had purchased a jet power programmer. I have been saving up to replace it with a 5 star unit from mike, so to help i was going to sell my jet one to my friend that has a 2004 expedition with a 4.6Liter. We programmed his truck with no problems to the baseline 87 octane program and 2 days later he was getting a p3001 cylinder #1 misfire code. We immediatley detune it back to stock. He took it out again and it happened again. I replaced the #1 COP and checked the plug, plug was good. I know they go out once in a while. Well today he called and it did it again. Im a little worried that this jet unit (and yes according to their site is compatible) screwed up my buddies truck. and it only happens when the revs are up, say climbing a decent hill. I would appreciate any input. Thanks

A bad injector can cause a misfire code as well. You might try swapping that with the one next to it and see if it follows.

Doesn't sound like it. If the Jet unit was the cause of the problem, there would be misfires on all 8 cylinders, not just one. Swap the spark plug with another and the misfire will likely go away. Just because a spark plug 'looks' good, doesn't mean it is. They do have a resistor element inside of them that can crack.

ok so i changed out the spark plug and took it for a run. no dice, the p3001 code strikes again. I brought i back and swapped the no1 and no2 fuel injectors. took it for a spin and bam no luck again. this p3001 is really getting the best of me. new coil, new plug and almost new injector. i appreciate the help fellas. unless anybody has any other cures, im gonna take it to the mechanic tomorrow. thanks again, never buying a jet P.O.S. again.
