Should I be filtering diesel that comes out of a 55 gallon barrel?

Tractor Supply Company also sells similar products but you will usually pay more.
Several companies sell these type products, just be sure the filter threads are 12UNF. Cim Tek/GPI-WIX-FillRite etc. Also remember diesel reacts to galvanized metal. Use combinations of cast iron-copper-black pipe, hose 30R7(or better) and good sealant, i use high pressure liquid hydraulic sealant.

Have you ever seen those trucks with the portable fuel pumps for filling up other trucks or equipment? Essentially it is a 55 gallon drum in the bed of a truck, with a pump. All of these have filters. Even though they get it from a normal pump, then into something with a fuel filter of its own, it is still filtered.
