Probably means exactly what you read. The boost was too high. Typically that is caused by the turbo being dirty. Too much boost will blow the heads off of the 6 liter, so she needs to be careful until she can get it worked on.
The turbo probably needs to come off and be cleaned up. If you are interested in trying that job, there are instructions to be found down in the 6.0 diesel forum.

If I'm not mistaken, this can also be caused by a dirty or clogged EBP sensor. This sensor detects exhaust backpressure. An erroneous reading to the PCM will cause the turbo to overboost. On the 06' it's located toward the front of the drivers side exhaust manifold. Unplug the harness and remove it and the pipe from the manifold and ensure it's clear.

the point of either of them is to increase the amount of air delivered to the combustion chamber. turbochargers work by using the exhaust gases to turn a turbine which drives the impeller that increases the air going to the engine. a supercharger(mechanical) is driven by the engine itself to produce the power to turn the impeller.
any type of supercharger or turbocharger can be used on any type of internal combustion engine.

I used roloc discs and emery cloth on mine.if you don't have a die grinder you can use light sandpaper and get the same results.it'll take a little more elbow grease but you'll save a bunch of money, and have the knowledge to do it again, because chances are it'll happen again.check out the write up on turbo cleaning in the tech folder.I would recommend also having a 10mm half inch drive,6pt socket to aid in turbo removal.
