So your back end doesn't sag down if the load is less than 1200 pounds with those rear coilovers?

I am long over due for new front and rear shocks so this is something I am considering.

Yeah 1200 or less and you don't get saggy back end. i would suggest that anyone looking into these coil overs to look long and hard at your shock mounts to make sure they will handle the extra strain. IE: if your 1/2 rusty don't put coil overs on!

the sway bars do a lot to help our trucks run strait down the road... don't underestimate replacing your old rubber sway bar mounts with good urethane ones! Makes a big difference that i could noticibly feel when driving loaded or unloaded...

Cool, and I'd have to check out my mounts before going the coilover route because the last thing I need is for the rear shocks to blow through the truck bed

I need to find some sway bars for my '92.

You don't remember an end link number and what size bar you got?

are you asking me what size the part numbers are for the parts I used?

I have the bigger/thicker of the two sway bars. You have to match the sway bar mounts to the diameter of the bar. End links are also different depending on which model sway bar you have too.

I used K8662 Moog links on the front... The rears have 3+ different designs. Strait rear end links have 2 different lengths so you have to measure your end link to figure out which one you need. Moog K8663 is the right one for my rear end.

Rockauto.com has them listed out under suspension, then "stabilizer bar link". they have them listed with which axle the truck has too.

PS: I use moog b/c of the lifetime warrenty. My local O'Reillys never haggles on lifttime stuff and orders me new to swap out if anything ever goes bad!

Same to you. I looked at your profile not too long ago and thought you were a goner for sure when I saw your last login date.

NO WAY! just a long hiatus from ford work since nothing has broke... I still have a 83 4.9 that needs it's new cam, efi maniflods, and dual plane intake with 4bbl carb to make it go faster... need to track down a exhaust leak (possibly manifolds) on thumper... and I still am debating what to do with my 351w rebuilt engine... Zeus is loanly with no running engine but converting it to maf and putting a $2000 rebuild in it might be a bit much for a $300 beater farm truck... I still have all 5 below but will be down to 2-3 before long.... white 86 is going to the grave yard after the 83 is done and the 88 f250 parts truck is the same... salvage some parts and send it to the bone yard!

Well it sounds like you have plenty of things to keep you busy, lol. Determined my exhaust leak on my '92 to be the passenger side's manifold. Probably same for you.

well... 2cycle is easy to work on inside during winter... 2 car garage isn't conducive to big engine work during winter.

Yeah I had seen pual wasn't signed in for a while now.

Wes,
have you done a ZF install on your 92 yet?

thats good work you did on your truck. i also replaced the shocks several years back and it rode a hell of a lot better. the old shocks i could compress it by hand it was so shot. good job on the welds. i also am just starting to learn how to weld and right now my welds look like bird (sh-t) droppings. i to was also looking at replacing the sway bar bushings and axle pivot and radius arm also. i did how ever buy black paint 2 yrs ago to paint the sway bar and parts and just never got around to doing so with having to do the family thing setting up tents and bbq's watching the kids. i'll be following this thread.
