I think you are talking about the idle air control valve clean air supply hose, connected to idle air control valve port.
It is number 7 in the diagram below.

If not can you email me a photo or post one here of the items?

yup, no. 7 is the rascal. I thought about eliminating the piece where it connects in the air tubes to smooth out the air flow but then I wouldn't have filtered air to the valve. I suppose I could use one of those plug in filter setups they use on valve covers or maybe I'll just leave well enough alone. Thanx!!
