Thank You SpringerPop!

After putting it off all last summer and not needing it through the winter, I finally decided I wanted proper air conditioning. I followed Marvs step by step instructions SpringerPop's Compressor Clutch Air Gap and now have as good of AC as the day I bought it. It was so simple, I kick my self for not doing last year. Mine only had the one spacer and for me, simply removing it completely and using no spacer worked perfect. I finished off with .018 gap and it pulls in and drops out great.
Thanks again to SpringerPop for the write up and everything else you do for us here.

Marv is definitely one of the best assets to the 7.3L community.

Did mine last summer. Dont remember what the gap was but it was huge. Something like .060. I was surprised that it was even pulling the clutch closed, but it wasnt kicking out either. Its good now.

Thanks Pop!

I'll say "Thanks, Guys", but please remember that what I do is just organize on my site the ideas that I have gained here from others far more knowledgeable than I.

I have been blessed to be able to explain some things that aren't always clear, that's all.

Let the real credit go to those who came before me and did the "discovering".

Again, Thanks!

It was almost too easy, now I'm thinking I might shoot for the cold air mod with the valve in the heater hose. Bout time to flush my coolant anyway.

Couldn't agree more! I am super thankful for that write up and photos to help guide me along. I used that write up on my wife's truck a few weeks ago. She said to me. "Honey, I think my A/C is going out.". I went outside, took about 10 minutes and it's all fixed now

She thinks I am a genius but I reminded her the real genius move was joining and supporting FTE.

(I still think Pop's SPED mod is about the best idea ever. I have that on both trucks)

Whoa! Whooda' thunkit!

Good eyes there, Mike!

I sincerely hope that at least a majority of the posts were spent contributing at least something.

But I join in some "social" threads, too.

Greg, you are one (or actually two) of only a handful of people that have built that. I suspect I could count them all on the fingers of one hand.

But mine just keeps on tickin', and the truck is always where I leave it. If it fools just one ne'r-do-well, it will all have been worthwhile.

"SPED", I suspect, means Springer Pop's Engine Disabler.
SpringerPop's Disabler

It's a gadget I put together that disables the engine from starting while allowing everything to look normal to someone attempting to surreptitiously take your truck. It's an easy-to-use "kill switch".

Notice I said easy-to-use. It's not-so-easy to build.

But Greg jumped in and built two of them, and at least a couple more guys have told me they did too.
