93 flareside bed on a 77?

hey guys i finnally picked up a 77 150 like ive always wanted, got a good deal on er, any how, from the cab forward is in great shape, but the bed is junk, rusted out, and tore up on one side where he blew out a 35" bogger, im looking to replace it with a flareside bed, i know the early 80's flareside fits, but im partial to the 93 flareside, does anyone know if itll fit, or seen one done like this, ne help is greatly appreciated

I hope it dont fit cause that would look like sh**.
If I were at the point where I was thinking about doing somthing like that, I would just make a flatbed out of it.

I'm sorry i can't help with the info you are asking for. But why not go with a 70's stepside to match? do you not like the looks of them or?

I've said before a '76 bed bolted right down on an '84 frame. (don't worry, I put the '77 cab on the '84 frame too. Which wasn't even close to fitting) Anyway, the bolt centers should line up. I can't guarantee how it'll look, but it should fit.

i have a bed off a 95 on my 77, had to drill new holes in the bed because of the narrower frame, but i didnt have to modify much to make it fit, just the back of the bed where the tailgate i had to cut away a little because o have a huge steel bumper that sticks up an inch or so higher than normal. its no classic look but itll do, i cant find a matching bed around here to save my life

You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes with the parts you have. I am unsure if it will fit, just break out the measuring stick, or someone on here should have some better advice, just gotta hope he/she will check this post. It's funny your asking about this, the other day I was at salvage yard and owner said he haid a 77 like mine he was putting a 93 or 95 bed on it. As long as bed is made by Ford, doesn't bother me, you are the owner do what you want to.

I've seen some pics from people here that have done that with an 80s bed and didn't look too bad. The 90s I don't know. It looks like there is more of a body line that would mismatch on the 90s vs the 80s and might stand out more.

Opinions

Welcome to FTE there bibtex84. Pay no mind to the folks on here that run there traps, that's only cause they have no understanding on how to get there point across.

I mean opinions are great is given with some tact and also provide some assistance in answering the question.

You asked it a 93 bed will FIT on a 77 truck, not if it will look good afterward.

This is primarily a technical forum, not strictly a BS chat place, but it does tend to go that way alot.

Hope it works out for you what ever direction you go and post up a picture, especially if you use the 93 bed.

This probably looks like s%$#t cause I took the doors off, LMOA.

Way to go, you ruined another classic truck. You and bigtex or whatever should get along great.

Oh its on now !

Well to let you know the PO beat the hell outta it and I got it to save if from the direction he was taking it to, THE CRUSHER no less.

It was to far gone to restore IMO, so its been worked on a given the attention its needed and then wheeled like a truck can be.

Your truck is very sharp, and I do not blame you for having that opinion. (See attached pic) Here does this make you feel any better about how I treat my rigs?

The blue one is all mine and I love it and do not wheel it, but it's not a trailer queen or mall crawler for sure. Its a trailer yanker with a 460 and the Bronco on the trailer behind it.

The red one was a farm truck the was getting beat to hell also, so I get it and fix it up, cause I work hard for my money and do with it what I damn well please, just like my trucks!

I do not rag you for evidently not 4 wheeling your very nice truck, so stay off my rig.

Its called TACT, get some, and sorry I lost my mind for a moment.
