06 F350 problem

Here is what i got..
2006 F350 King Ranch 4x4 dually 6.0 with 69k miles. 6" lift wit 37" BFGs on the stock wheels. The tires have about 15K on them with more then 1/2 the tread left on them. Also have the double steering stabilizers.
Today on the highway i hit a pot hole and the driver side front tire and wheel started shaking real bad. I had to almost stop the truck to get it to stop shaking...It hasn't done it again yet but I would like to make sure it don't. Do you have any idea what would make this happen? Any help would be great.

You've just experienced "death wobble". Call it that, do a search, and you will find many threads.

Your problem is made worse by the lift, and the tires that are too wide for stock wheels. That complicates things for you. First thing to check would be the ball joints and rod ends all around. Don't assume it is a drivers side problem. Could be any component.

Pounds is right. I would add a few things from my experience. Check all ball joints and tie rod ends for ANY play. I run the exact same set up and have experienced the same problem. The dual steering stabalizer is really important. Replace those. When mine get worn i start to notice the death wobble again. Scary stuff!!
