I have my transmission out so I thought it would be a good idea to rebuild the turbo and replace the exhaust housing and the down pipe with the larger type. I don't know where to find either or a rebuild kit for the turbo. My truck is a stock '94 7.3l with the factory turbo. Can someone help me out and point me in the right direction?

 

They don't make the upgraded housing for the ATS turbos anymore so your best bet is craigslist, eBay, junkyards etc. Or if you really want more power, just put a whole new kit on altogether. That would be much easier without the tranny installed. Dunno about a rebuild kit, Oreo rebuilt his so hopefully he will chime in.

 

The turbo rebuild kit is the easy part...just find a T3/T4 rebuild kit for a dynamic seal. Buy a good quality one though- you should only need a minor kit unless your seal holder is all chewed up, and expect to spend at least $80 on it to make sure you get good bearings.
