1998 F150 OIL PAN LEAK

Noticed some oil on the bottom of oil pan on my 98 f150 4.6 sohc 2wd auto. Oil can be seen on bottom of one bolt between trans and oil pan area, drivers side area. Also some oil film around where oil pan meets bottom of engine just on back 1/3 of pan only. Rest of area is dry. Can pan gasket be shot or do I have a main seal issue?? What do you guys think?

take a long extension and socket and tighten every pan bolt 1/2 turn.

What do u think it is? Main seal? Tighten all pan bolts not just bolts in questionable area? Thanks.

most trucks that are 10 years old will have the gaskets take a set and may leak slightly. valve covers do it also. put a socket on and turn and you will see some bolts are 1/2 to 1 turn loose. just tighten them ALL up and then watch. That will fix MOST motor leaks.

try removing the flexplate inspection cover thats bolted to the transmission. if you have oil covering the torque converter, and backside of the motor, its a main seal issue. other than that, try what all these other good 'ol boys say and go from there, be sure to reply back to let us know if were giving good advice.
