my personal opinion is pull the motor, tranny, wheels, rear end and scrap the rest.

Actually, the sheet metal is pretty dang good for nearly 40 yr old truck....Any ideas on the rear end, what it is? Engine? I'm guessing 318/360...MAYBE a 383....Really won't be a bad project...It will be the winter/work truck after the ford gets painted.....

I say pull what you want from it and scrap the rest. By the time you put the money and time into it to make it into something roadworthy you are money behind something you could have bought that is already drivable. Trucks like this are expensive to maintain and repair. They're not known for their reliability.

I do know where an early 80's model is....318/Auto/4x4....Very little rust...Can get it for very little $$$$......Just gonna get this one home and go through it.....The cab is rock solid, save for about 3-4 small rust spots....

The bed is in decently rough shape....Would like a regular bed for it....

Well guys, its a shot...He said it is the original mileage: 21xxx.....The body is in good shape as far as floor pans, etc go....The bed can go....And just put a regular bed back on it....I have a 1969 Chevy with a very good bed (Cab was demolished in the wreck) that will bolt on and look halfway decent, as far as bodylines go...Just would look weird without the fender wells to cover the dually wheels.....

It'd basically be a beater/winter driver.....Any leads on aftermarket panels/replacement parts?

Thanks all-

-Wes
