6.9 returns home

Well a couple of years ago a friend of mine needed a truck. I had just picked up a 94 DI so let him use my 85 6.9. It came back today with new hoses, belts, vacuum pump, glow plugs and tires! Now I can do something about the paint. BTW it is currently at 408,000 mi and still running strong.

Got it from Tractor Supply Co.

I was a little skeptical, it was $37 a gallon, $14 for the reducer and $8 for the hardener. But for $60 Bucks I think I got a great paint job, the truck even feels better driving it now LOL!

is it legit International paint or is it van sickle? how long have you actually had it painted? any chipping cracking fading ect.... my truck and tool boxes are going to be white and the bed (flatbed) is going to be black i need a good quality white to use john deere has the black in gallons but the white is in quarts and cost alot lol since they don't use white much... how many coats did you put on and what type of primer/sealer? how many gallons did it take and how much was left over? any clearcoat on top or just paint?

It's a generic Tractor and implement paint, IH white is only the color. Its only been on for a week now, so no telling how it will wear yet.

I used the same brand primer as paint, Majik was the brand. Two coats primer and two coats paint no clear. I used less than 1/2 gal of each.

Sprayed with a siphon gun, 60gal air compressor at 60psi. Never had a problem with pattern or runs mixing reducer 1 pint per gal. Was 70 degrees outside.

TSC sells valspar brand which is very good paint, I did the 9600 2 years ago and it still shines take a look in my albums, it hasn't been buffed or waxed, been outside everyday til last november the pics inside are the only shed time its seen. Use the hardener it will look bad at first but give it two weeks and it will gloss out nice. Would i use it again? no question! Just remember to use a good resperator with the hardener because if it gets in your lungs it will never leave.
