still kills me that Ford uses those on 4x4 trucks. I would barely call my factory Goodyears all terrain, the Conti's not only look like a car tire but performed like one too (based on my previous truck that had them)

Thanks for the heads up. Got 40000 miles on mine, still look okay but I was contemplating a new set some time soon. Let's see what happens. I contacted my dealer.

You have to have the DOT number which is 12 digits long. If the outside of the tire has only 8 then you need to look at the inside of the tire for the full number. Check all 4 tires and spare as they MAY have different numbers. You can call continental at 1-888-799-2168 and give them the DOT # and they will tell you if it is in recall.

Some Ford dealers don't check in at their authorized Ford web sites regularly and so they don't know about the recall.

You did better than I did! Soon as we got the truck three of the tires had to be replaced because ford couldn't balance them. It was a new '08 but we bought it feb '09 so it had been sitting for awhile. Even with the replacements they never felt right and gave a bumpy ride. After 24k they were almost bald, from day one we had them rotated and balanced regularly. Towing a 36ft fifth wheel doesn't help but that's still ridiculous. Now the truck has BFGoodrich all terrains on it and now the ride is smooth. Continentals just suck!

I am at Fall River Ford right now and there service manager has not heard anything about it. He looked in the Ford intranet and they don't have any advisories. He called Continental and no one has any answer for him as to who is going to do the work.

He asked for 24 hours to get all the answers for me. Fair enough.

One year too late. I still have the spare. I had 30k miles and one tire had a belt break and the other three was hurting my hemmorhoids too much. They vibrated too much.

Mine wore out after 42K. Tread started separating in Feb. Bought the new Michelin AT2 tires. They ride like a dream.
