I'm getting ready to swap in a 6.0 cooler. Got any tips? Is there a detailed write up anywhere on the swap? How many of those 90s did u use?

Here's one writeup. There are others, I'm still looking.

Thanks a bunch! I also found another very good one. I may just call BTS and order that little kit. Looks good.

I ended up using 2, but I would get 3 just in case you have a kink in your line.

Thanks! I put it together awhile after I did mine. I kept seeing people ask for instructions on how to do it, so I showed how I did it.

I know my local Ace Hardware sells the parts.

I went this route and I had to solder them or they leaked. Just an idea but you can solder them.

How is the 6.0 cooler installed on on the actual truck for that cooler? Do they use a 90degree elbow?

They have preformed lines for the 6.0 trucks. Some guys have used the OEM 6.0 cooler lines. Most just use cooler hose. When I installed mine, there was no need for elbows there, but I understand why people put them in. If you take your time, you can get it installed with no elbows.

Hey ken , I am the process of doing the 6.0 cooler and see that you have heard of guys using the 6.0 lines. I have the 6.0 lines do you have any tips on adapting them to the 3/8" lines? I would like to use somekind of bushing on the line that screws into the radiator.

I would use 3/8"-1/2" flareless adapter. You should be able to get them from any hydraulic or industrial supply. Swagelok is a manufacture that builds them. You can get them in stainless steel or brass. You may find brass ones at the hardware store too. They are usually built lighter duty, but will probably work fine.

The flareless fittings are easy to install and provide a leak free connection that can be used as a disconnect point in the future.

Here is one on eBay, prices do vary. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Swagelok-SS-...5#ht_500wt_689
