1966 ford F100resto project

Hello , im Dylan a 17 year old guy restoring my 1966 ford f100, with my dad's guidance and support, i replaced all the floors, it was BAD but its MUCH better now and i have installed seats and currently am working on a 351 windsor that is in Extremely good shape. here is the pics from 3 years ago to today.

when i originally got the truck way back in 2008

cleaned it up a bit, before i began to restore it, it looks pretty good on there but it looks beat up when you see it, its full of rust, dented metal, road signs for floors, the shifter didnt even work. ARRGH

basically all rust and stuff like this is gone but right side fender isnt done yet, and i still have to work on the bed...

after a good day's work

the old man himselF hes markin up areas where to cut for the floor shifter =)

floor shifter done!

fixed the floors and did all of the welding =)

painted the floors

this is pretty sweet, i got a brand new gas tank at a auto flea market, for 20 dollars!! it shoulda been 200 bucks but im one happy guy!

took off the old vinyl dash, it was all cracked up i was lucky to only have a little adhesive underneath and its basically perfect, no rust.

painted the dashboard

new dash cover =)

351 windsor, before it was badd, but the inside of it was surprisingly clean so i cleaned it up and painted her up with some ford blue =) i still need to get new valve covers though.

and this is where it is now! ill keep you all updated and if you have any questions you are welcome to ask, i know i will ask plenty!ps my dad did the pinstriping and a local guy did the upholstery and threw in the doorpanels for free. and i got some S/S cragars that im so psyched about.

nice work Dylan!

I can see dad is handy with the rattle cans too. Did you say what kind of transmission is in the truck? The interior is looking so good now that you're going to have to paint the red on the exterior to match or maybe make it dark red? Either way that's a nice looking truck.

thanks everyone, wills, its a 3 spd transmission right now but i might be able to get a 4 speed along with several other exhaust things i need, and i might paint it red, or black, completely flat black, or red metal flake, i have no clue! but ill figure it out eventually

ford dude, i got many of the metal pieces from LMC trucks, theyre a very dependable ford restoration parts and a few pieces i made myself with same thickness as the plates. Lmc parts isnt the exact same size so there was some cutting an hammering required but the end result was worth it, and its covered in rustprotection paint so that's a perk. if you go to LMCtrucks.com i think you can order a free catalog from there.

Nice rig, kid! I approve this project with two thumbs up! I remember being 16 when I bought my first car (a 74 VW bug)... and my enjoyment of doing auto work started with my dad handing me a Haynes manual, and telling me that I couldn't drive it until I had pulled the engine, tore it apart, cleaned/replaced as needed, and put it back in! I'll be 33 after the weekend, and several projects later... the garage is still my happy place!
