how do you tell what job build your truck is?

I think technically Job 2 is November 1, 2010 (Job #2)
and the 400/800 reflash is a post Job 1 update, starting Sept 7 as I recall.
typically the 'job' numbers identify a significant build process change.
(seats, heated rear window, headrest monitors...)
just like on 08's.. the backup camera option didn't come til job 2.
(I have an 08 job 1)

If the truck was built before August 20th or thereabouts, it is a Job 1. IIRC, Job 2 changes were added incrementally into 2011. I also remember November as a big month for Job 2 changes.
I can not answer your DEF question as I am unsure of what you are asking. Sorry

a guy who works with me said his brother has a 08 diesel, and that it uses a 1/4 of tank of fuel when it regens, so i didnt know if the new ones did the same, im sorry for all these stupid questions, but i never had a diesel or knew anyone that did, so sorry again
Re-gen on the 6.7 diesel is far more efficient than it is on the 6.4 diesel. I also have a friend with an '08 (or maybe it's an '09--now I can't remember).
Anyway, his MPG goes in the toilet during re-gen, dropping on the order of 6 to 8 MPG. It borders on the ridiculous IMO.
My '11 loses at most 1 MPG during re-gen, and usually not even that from the times I've paid attention to it.
I believe the 6.7 will also go through fewer re-gen cycles than the 6.4 does.
Hope that answers your question.
