quick trans question

Hi
I have a fellow here wanting to buy my 96 psd auto.He has a 92 auto. Will his trans work in my truck? My tranny is done but he has a newly built one in his 92 and his motor went.
Thanks
Jake

If both trucks had the same engine, then you're close. The '92 diesel torque converter had 4 studs, the '96 had 6. You might be able to change the flex plate, but the better way is to get a new 6 stud torque converter.
